The Symbolism of Carnival: Where Art Meets Tradition

The immersion began with a focus on aesthetics and rhythm. Miss Naema, our 3-6 years old culture educator, introduced the theme by wearing an authentic samba fantasia.

Beyond the spectacular visual, her presentation served as a pedagogical tool to discuss:

  • Cultural Heritage: The vital role of music and dance in Brazilian social cohesion.
  • Art History: The design and symbolism behind Rio de Janeiro’s iconic costumes.
  • Intercultural Dialogue: Understanding how a popular festival becomes a national emblem.

From Hammocks to Schoolbags: Everyday Brazilian Life

To truly understand a country, one must observe its simplest gestures. Our learners explored the history of the hammock, a traditional object that reflects both climate adaptation and the heritage of local populations.

Through an immersive report, the children followed the daily routine of a young Brazilian girl.

The goal? To create a mirror between their own lives and those of a child across the globe, cultivating empathy and an open-minded worldview.

Capoeira: Sport and Heritage in Motion

No immersion is complete without movement! Our students were introduced to Capoeira, a unique Afro-Brazilian martial art that blends fighting, dance, and acrobatics to the rhythm of the berimbau. This session raised awareness about the history of cultural resistance and the power of physical expression as a universal language.

Presentation: Students as Active Learners

This themed week concluded with a highlight: a time for sharing. Students presented the results of their personal research, covering a wide range of topics:

  • Geography: The unique urban planning of the capital, Brasília.
  • Biodiversity: The richness of the Amazon and regional traditions.
  • Social Dynamics: The evolution of a country in constant motion.

This enriching experience perfectly reflects our commitment to raising students who are globally minded and sensitive to cultural diversity.
